Weepy left eye? Why?!

Question: I'm asing cos Google tries to give me 10000 irrelevant answers and my GP is being vague about the cause?

I have on and off weeping form my left eye.
It seems to start if I go indoors and outdoors.

Temperature changes seem to set it off?

Is it an allergy? I have had problems with allergies before?

Could it be a symptom of retinopahty of glaucoma.

I have a medical problem that could lead to me getting this in later life?

As I said my doctor is being vague and I have tried two different medications that dont seem to make much difference?

Ideas any one? Simple allergy or worse?

Honestly it sounds like dryness....Going from one temperature to another can dry out the surface of your eye which in return your body starts over producing tears to compensate for how dry the surface of your eye is and that is when your eye(s) start to water. Its is possible for one eye to do it more than another depending on the situation/ your eyes.

A lot of people also notice the watering when reading/working on the pc, or watching tv because when you are doing these tasks you are not blinking as ofter because you are focusing so much, and that drys your eyes out..

Try an over the counter artificial tear drop like Systane or Optive...Try using it 3-4x a day at first and see if you notice any improvement.

That and if you feel it may be due to allergies try a over the counter drop called Zaditor OTC its in a bright orange box, you cant miss it! You use that drop every 12 hours..

If this does not help i would see an optometrist or an ophthalmologist. NO offense to GP's out there, but it seems they are not to keen on eye care :-/ sorry GP's....

Glaucoma normally does not have symptoms like this, with glaucoma you have loss of side vision, and in some cases nausea due to a spike in eye pressure.

I would make an appointment with an opthamologist and have him make a diagnosis. Kind of sounds like a plugged up tear duct. Go to an eye specialist for sure.
