Glaucoma testing?!
Question: I am 29 y/o white female, I had an eye check up yesterday and because my family has a history of glaucoma I got tested for that too. I was told that the average person has a 15 point pressure test, mine was 21. I asked what the danger zone is and he said 22, 23. Should I be worried? At the very beginning of the appointment before my eye exam he asked if I've been getting head aches. I said no, but now that I think about it I do. It just never occured to me to say yes because I've had headaches since I was a teen so I've grown to just accept and ignore them. Is there anything else I need to look out for?

Glaucoma doesn't really have any symptoms. The only way to find out if you have it is to do exactly what you did - have an examination.
The word "glaucoma" is scary, but it doesn't mean you're going to go blind. It can be easily treated, especially since your doctor is aware of your pressure numbers early. You'll probably have to go for regular checkups so they can monitor it.
I've had it for years, and have been taking eye drops all along, twice a day. I visit the eye doctor every few months, and have had no problems. You shouldn't either, as long as you keep having it checked.
If the eye doctor feels you need eye drops, he or she will prescribe them.
As for the headaches, call the doctor and mention it. If it's anything serious, he/she will let you know.
Someone once asked me if having to use eye drops all the time is an inconvenience. I simply told them that it's a very small price to pay.
i work in an opticians, and those guidlines are the same for us, anything over 21, we would do extra tests to make sure you are ok.
Your optometrist probably did extra tests to check because your pressure is quite high. so if they said you were ok you probably are!
Some people have a naturally high pressure result, and this wouldnt be a result of glaucoma, it would just be normal for them.
If youve had an eyetest i doubt your headaches will be an eye related problem because they would have picked this up. If they continue i recomend you see a doctor.
Make sure you have regular eye check ups (usually about every 2 years) and you should be fine.
