How good is your vision and how many hours of near work do you do?!
Question: Just felt like finding out how many people maintain good vision while frying their eyes on computers, tvs, or books.
Please no "reading does not affect your vision" answers please!

Reading/PC work does NOT make your vision worse. Your eyes may feel tired but it is not actually damaging your vision.
We have a rule in eye care- depending on your age we can kind of guess how much prescription you need for upclose work- And it is an estimate.
35-40 +1.75 Add
40-45 +2.00 Add
45-50 +2.25-+2.50 Add
50-60 +2.25-+2.75 Add
And 90% of the time that rule works...
We always hear patients over 40 say to us "my arms are not long enough" That is because of the, i guess you could say, wearing out of the eye mucsels abiltiy to focus
That shows that no matter how much or little you work your eyes do eventually need that extra help with reading. It happens to everyone, and thus far i have not seen any way proven to prevent it.
With PC work you would cut the ADD rx down a little bit, the stronger the # the closer you have to have what every you are looking at
The lower the number- the further you need to hold things...
