I heard when your eyes twitch that means you are stressed out. Are you? If so relax, take the the time to just sit down and listen to soothing music. Go outside and run or excersize. I heard when you excersize your body produces some kind of chemical that makes you feel better. I tried it out one time and I really did feel better.

your brother is right. your muscles in your eyes are strained b/c your are not getting enough sleep. sleep more & the twitch should stop.

it's a muscle spasm.
i get them when i'm tired or stressed.

They are most likely muscle spasms, caused by stress, lack of sleep, or even a pinched nerve in your neck (least common).

There is no way to stop them, although when it happens to me i find that using a cool moist compress soothes it and makes my eye feel more comfortable.

Good luck...its obnoxious i know!

Everyone is correct, it is partly caused from stress and lack of sleep.

During my finals week, I get it alot, but I've learned to just take a few hours off, treat myself to some ice cream, and nap a little.

Don't strain your eyes too much, whatever stress you're feeling just forget about it, and take a looong nap.

Hope I helped.

stress, lack of sleep, and eyestrain will do it. spending too much time on the computer and not sleeping enough will do it.
