Left eye twitch?!
Question: My husbands left eye keeps twitching, we read on web md it might because of drinking. He hasn't drank in about a month and before that was like years. What could it be? It's bothering him, which in return he's bothering me. SO help me please! Oh yeah my husband too!

I am not sure what causes eye twitching. I took an advanced psychology class one time in which the instructor told about a man that came to him because of facial tics on the left side of his face. There was no medical reason for it. The instructor told him that whenever ticking began on the left side of his face to concentrate on the right side. His tic that he had had for a number of years went away after only a few days of dealing with it. I tried this method on myself when I had a twitch in my right thumb. It went away in a few days.
I suggest going to a doctor to make sure that there is nothing medically wrong. Then try concentrating on his right eye every time the left one twitches to see if that helps.
The only thing I can think of is get some sleep. I know that if I(or any one I know for that matter)dont get enogh sleep me eye goes a little crazy!! If it doesn't go away after a while simply ask a doctor. He can only help!!
The main reasons for eye twitches are:
- stress (emotional, but yes, even eye strain from too much computer use)
- lack of sleep
- too much caffeine
Is it accompanied with any other signs like a facial palsy or any other facial ticks? If it's just the one eye and nothing else, Try getting more sleep, destressing or cutting down on the caffeine for a week or two and see what happens.
If it's not associated with anything else, I probably wouldn't worry about it too much. But if it goes on for longer than a few weeks and he's tried all the above, it's better to go see someone and get his worries put to rest by a professional. (That way you can get some rest too! =)
