Is it bad if you keep taking your glasses on and off?!

Question: I have glasses, but they're not for wearing all time, just when I can't see far away. Will it be bad if I keep taking them on and off?

Also: will it be good for me to wear them, when I'm close to the t.v.?

Neither bad nor good to take off and on. When they are on you can see distance clearly, when off you can't. They don't affect your eyes, they only affect the light going to your eyes and modify it so that you can see.

If you see better with them on watching TV, then wear them.

You will do no harm by only wearing them when you feel the need. If your only visual complaints are for driving and television then use them when you feel it necessary. How close do you sit to the TV? If it is more than 4 feet then the glasses should make the images clearer.

Im laughing right now cause I just got glasses and I was thinking the same thing. I do the same thing. I do see better with them on if the image is farther away. When in using my pc or reading a book I take them off. In not comfortable using them to drive either...It wont hurt the eyes but I have found that the more I wear the glasses..or the longer I have them on my vision is a little more blurry for the fist min or so after taking them off. My eye doctor said the more I wear them the more the eyes will relax and I will feel the need to wear them because I will see so much better with them....Not gonna happen...thats why i take them off when I dont really need them. I dont want to be dependent on the glasses all the time so I only wear them when I feel the need...or want my glasses are cute :)

Wear 'em when you wanna see--when it helps. Don't bother when you don't want to wear 'em--it won't hurt your eyes either way.

Major exception: please wear 'em driving if you need 'em to drive.

i am 56 and have had bifocals since my 40's...to this day i take my glasses off to read or crochet.....drs have said its okay........................
