Can a biomedic contact user use acuvue?!

Question: biomedics are dry for my eyes and want to try something else..

Answers: biomedics are dry for my eyes and want to try something else..

there are 2 kinds of Biomedic lenses. The 55% and the 38%. The Acuvue contacts are all 43%. The percentages refer to amount of the contact lens' weight that is due to water. Ironically, for dryness, you want a lens that has LESS water in it. If you want the explanation on why, ask, and I'll write it all down for you. But to keep this shorter, I'll go on.The fit on contacts is not interchangeable, so a Biomedics might fit very differently than an Acuvue.
For this reason, you need to be re-fit into a different lens. Meaning that you have to go back to the Dr. and make it known that you are having a problem with the comfort of the lens. There shouldn't be a charge for a re-fit depending on how long it's been since you were last seen. I don't charge anything for it up to nine months from the original fit. But greed is a factor amoung different people and your Doc may charge.
The Biomedics and the AV's are compatible lenses so I don't see why it wouldn't be possible. But as to whether the switch will solve your problem is just an educated guess. Looking at the water percentage is the only clue as to whether this will work for you.
If dryness is the issue, try to go from a higher to a lower water content. If you already have the 38% Biomedics (it'll say so on the box and on each individual label to the contacts), you have only a few choices left. Try an Acuvue Oasys. If you have the Biomedics 55%, you might be able to solve the dryness issue just by switching into a lower water percentage contact.
Sorry it was long winded.

That shouldn't be a problem at all, except that you will need a new fitting for them at your Dr's.

Shdn't be a problem but have the lenses fitting done by the optical shop people to determine that
