They probably aren't comfortable because they aren't the right size for your eyes. Not everyone has the same pupil size, hence the need for a contact lens fitting with an eye doctor.

To purchase any contacts legally, you do need a prescription regardless of whether or not they are for vision correction. Contacts are always considered medical devices, regardless of the reason someone wants/needs them. I wear the Freshlooks, and don't need vision correction, but I still had the eye exam and contact fitting...this way I know I'm taking care of my eyes properly. My contacts are super comfortable also, because they have been fitted to my personal eyes.

Your eye doctor will give you a simple eye exam to see if you do or do not need vision correction, then he/she will measure your pupils to ensure you get the right size contacts. Not everyone has the same size pupils, so there is no "one size fits all" with contacts, and that's why the fitting is so important. Contacts that don't fit you properly can cause discomfort, eye infections, and worse in some cases.

Once you've completed the eye exam and fitting, the eye doctor will let you try on as many colors as you want, so that you can see which colors you like best. The eye doctor will train you on how to properly care for contacts (insertion/removal, cleaning/storing, when to change to a new pair, etc). You'll also be sent home with at least one trial pair in the color of your choice, and your prescription, so that you can order your contacts from anywhere you choose online or at any eye doctor's office. I prefer to use 1800contacts.com, because they have great prices and fast shipping.

Freshlook Colors and Colorblends offer some pretty purples, but the Freshlooks only come in one size, so without knowing your pupil measurements, it's hard to say whether those will work well for you or not. Cibasoft Softcolors offer a purple color as well, with more size choices. Durasoft 3 has a purple color too, along with Cibasoft Illusions.

go to the eye doctor & see what he has.. google it & see the different brands & they might give you a free trial pair
