I think I've developed an eye strain problem from using the computer too muc!

Question: I'm a graphic and web designer so spend lots of time in front of the computer so think I've developed a problem with my vision. When I put my hand over my right eye I see a slight blur in my surroundings in my left eye. My right eye sees perfectly fine and together I also see fine expect on my left out the corner of my eye.
I looked in the mirror and was freaked out to see that my right eye was looking right at me while my left eye was looking off to the side. . When I adjusted my focus both eyes were aligned.to look at myself. I redid this and it seems I can do this at will so I'm thinking I cast my left eye so I can see the computer better..if that makes sense.
Does this problem sound serious and should I see an eye doctor?

Definitely take more breaks while you're using the computer. Ideally, you should be looking away from your computer at least every 20 minutes or so for at least 20 seconds at a time. It doesn't need to be a long break but make sure you're looking at something far away like across the room out the window.

You may have a slight strabismus which is when one eye turns in or out. This may be caused by your excess computer use or due to a need for computer glasses that you never knew you had (or recently developed) or it may be something you've had all along and the excess computer use has made it more evident.

Either way, get it checked out by your doctor. You may just need to take more breaks at the computer, do some eye exercises or just get some glasses to correct the problem.

If I were you I would call the eye doctor. In the mean time take a break every 15 minutes and simply look away for a minute. I was on the computer a lot a while ago and me eyes were always soar and I couldn't see as straight as I used to. I just took a little break about every 20 minutes and my eyes were fine after that. Good luck!!
