Is it normal to black out when you stand up?!

Question: It is not normal no.. You need to see a doctor regarding it. There could be a number of reasons to why you are having this issue, but most the time it can be die to low blood pressure. When you get up take a moment and get up slowly especially when you have been laying down to a sitting position. Change your position slowly.

It depends on how long but if it's for just a few seconds I wouldn't worry about it. I do it all the time. I get up and wobbly around for a few seconds but it's nothing serious the only reason I was worried was b/c I get headaches everyday but I've had MRI and Ct scans and nothing is wrong with me, so I'm positive that you are absulutely wonderful!

Yes that happened to me about 2 years ago. It happened a few times. Drink more water and stuff, And when you sit down get up slow. Maybe take a little bit more sugar too.

You on any new prescription meds? Have health probs?

It's not extremely rare to get woozy on standing but it is not "normal" and it does indicate a problem. Please check this out with your physician. In the meantime, sit up before standing, and then stand up slowly.
