My eye is twitching?!

Question: almost exactly 72 hours ago, my upper right eyelid in the outside corner has been twitching, about every 3-5 minutes or so for about 6-7 seconds. i was getting on a plane 72 hours ago, but i'm fine with flying. no unusual changes in sleep patterns, my marriage is great, i love my job. any suggestions?

ps: i have an astigmatism in that eye, not in my left. could it have something to do with my contacts needing to be altered due to possible progression of the curvature of my eye? ahh!

Cabin pressure from traveling, dried out contacts, these could all be reasons you've noticed an increase in the twitching. People who have astigmatisms often experience twitching. Take the contacts out and try again in a couple of days, let your eyes rest and breathe.

Astigmatism is when you have a refractive error which causes you to need a different lens power on a particular plane of your visual field. Nystagmus is what involuntary eye movement is called. Report It

  • I have that problem sometimes, usually its just eye strain/stress.

eye twitching is often caused by stress.

Mine use to do that every once in awhile but it felt kinda cool, so I let it be.

This is very normal and can be caused by sleepiness.

It really is due to stress...just try to forget about it...its like the hiccups in that sense

Nothing to fear, it happens to everyone. ;)

It very well may be related to your contacts and other eye issues. But it is probably just a little twitch. If it continues for a week or so I would suggest going to the eye doctor and have him/her check it out.

    Hope this helps!:)

Yeah, I get that sometimes, I hear its caused by stress and tiredness. You are fine.

Yea, I think this is a common thing for everyone.
