I would like to get extended wear contact lenses -- but is it okay if I DON'!

Question: At the moment, I can only wear my daily wear lenses for about 12 hours at a time until they become uncomfortable (although I'm usually awake for at least 18 hours a day). I would like to get extended lenses so I can wear them the whole time I am awake, but I don't think I'd be able to sleep in them, as I tend to have a LOT of trouble sleeping anyway.

If I did get extended wear lenses, would it be okay to take them out every night before I went to bed?

Thanks.

Sure, you can get extended wear contacts and not sleep in them. The extended-wear part only means that you CAN sleep in them, not that you HAVE to. I think it'd actually be a better idea not to sleep in them if you don't absolutely have to; that way your eyes will have some time to rest without the contacts, and take in a little extra oxygen as well.

Since you already have contacts, I assume you know how to clean them, so you should be good to go with the extended wear contacts.

You are not supposed to sleep in them anyway. Just take them out before you go to bed and make sure you clean them well.

Absolutely! extended wear contacts are great anyways, because they transmit higher amounts of oxygen as opposed to some non-extended contacts. You're free to take them out, but if you're used to disposing your lenses, make sure to ask your doctor how to clean and store them!

Yes this wouldn't be a problem, you can use as daily wear as long as you have the right type of solution to keep them in. (The solution would generally depend on you, not the lenses).

Yes, it is best recommended to remove the lenses even it is a extended wear lenses.
