What kind of tint is used for glasses?!

It is special liquid dyes that are made just for optical lenses.

They are heated up in a dye pots to about 190 degrees , then the lenses are dipped in it for anywhere from a few minutes to a couple of hours depending on the density wanted.

That dye gets absorbed right through the lens, it is't just on the surface.

Other then dying the lenses you can also purchase polarized lenses which are not dipped in the dye tank. Polarized lenses come in different colors and levels of intensity. They block the light which is reflected of of objects, especially water or snow. There are also plastic photochromic lenses that will get darker when exposed to UV light, there are drawbacks to these lenses when compared to fix tinted lenses most notably the lack of color changing in your car.
