Medication and Contact Lenses?!

Question: I have a possible UTI pain w/urination, back pain(test a dr's office was negative but they sent urine out for cultures) and have presciption for antibotic and phenazopyridine. The dr nor pharmacists mentioned i should not be wearing soft conacts while wearing i just noticed it on the long pamphlet they give you for directions on how to take medication. Problem i have to wear glasses or contacs and my current glasses are very old and i can barely see out of them. I wear contacts everyday and i have astigmatism. If i wear my contacts for a few hours tomorrow at least to drive to work pick up my laptop so i can work from home will they stain? If they stain will i still be able to see through them? Has anyone worn their contacts while taking this medicine what happened? I already took one pill and have my contacts in still. Have plenty of backup conact lenses im prepared to throw the one i have on now and any i wear tomorrow away.

Just reading up on that med on a medical site...it says it MAY stain the lenses, but there is no mention of any other possible problem by wearing them.

So, by what it says, there shouldn't be a problem for you to use them for a few hours, the worst that will happen is that you may lose those lenses afterward.

How fast they MAY stain is a good question that isn't answered, but I doubt it would be within a few hours , and even then, they wouldn't become opaque.

This shows you the importance of having good back-up glasses though.
