Go to boots chemist is the best.
you wouldn't wanna go to an optician to get an exam..opticians only fill, dispense and adjust your glasses.....you'd wanna look for an optometrist to measure the prescription of your eyes or an ophthalmologist if there are deeper health concerns that might concern surgery
Have never gone to an optometrist as my eyesight is too important. Ask your GP for a referral to an ophthalmic surgeon. When I lived in Scotland my GP, who was a personal friend, referred me to the chief of ophthalmic surgery and a member of the Royal College of Surgeons at Edinburgh University which was, perhaps, a bit of "overkill" for my first pair of reading glasses (at 41) but my GP said he preferred sending me to The Best on the off chance there was something more serious. I've since learned that Merck Pharmaceutical, publishers of The Merck Manual which is the physicians' diagnosis/treatment information guide, have a manual devoted, totally, to ophthalmic medicine; I didn't realize there are so many eye disorders one can have and not be aware of.
