Worms in eye?!

Question: I saw this episode of house where a kid had worms in his eye (he could see them, and when House looked in his eye, he could see them).

Is that possible? How would the worms get there? I'm just curious.

We're not talking earth worms here. As explained previously there are small parasites that can enter the body usually from ingesting contaminated materials or from hand-to-mouth transfer after touching contaminated materials. For children, exposed play sandboxes used by neighborhood cats are good sources for a particular parasite.

Once in the body the parasite (worm/larva) can move (migrate) throughout the body.

I saw that episode of House. It is possible for the worm to be seen in the eye using a routine examination technique, but not the way House did it.

yes it is possible i seen it on discovery channel.

It is possible for worms to get in the human eye. I saw an episode about this on Animal Planet. As soon as you see the worm in the eye, the person should seek immediate medical attention.

Seriously! It's gross to have a freaking worm in the human eye.

VIVA LA RAZA!

Worms can appear in any part of the body as a parasite. They can travel through the blood stream after passing through the skin or through the mucus membranes. They can enter the eye while a person swims in some tropical countries. The blood does go to the eyes so the right kind can be seen there.
