What is -100 cylinder?!

Question: I'm planning on purchasing some Rx glasses/sunglasses online. I understand my prescription, except for my O.S. cylinder, which is -100. The online sites I would like to buy from don't have an option for "-100." So I'm wondering if a cylinder of "-100" could possibly be another number or called something else (perhaps DS, none, plano, or infinity)?

This is my prescription:
OD - sphere: +4.75, cylinder: -1.25, axis: 168
OS - sphere: +2.75, cylinder: -100, axis: 12

your prescription reads +2.75-1.00x012
looks like they just forgot the decimal point. 100 diopters of cylinder would be impossible.

I would also caution you on buying eye glasses online. Not the same thing as contacts and with prescription like yours, I would buy local with a guarantee.

In contacts there wouldn't be a -1.00 cyl, but in glasses, there has to be.

You have to put in both the cylinder and the axis #'s

It can't be called anything else but that...you must be just looking in the wrong place, or you are using an order form for contacts.

You are taking some chance getting a strong Rx like that done online...good luck

LOL...I thought it was just the asker who forgot the decimal in the 1.00....that is most likely the problem then.

She is trying to find 100 cyl.

If I'm not mistaken, you are trying to buy contact lenses with an eyeglass prescription.
You have no way of knowing what contacts to order.
Why don't you let the doctor worry about it?
Who will fit you?
Who will you blame if it doesnt work out?
