Most "righties" will look through the hole with their right eye (usually the dominant eye.) Most will then shut their left eye. There are always exceptions to the rule.
Are you talking about the hemispheres of your brain?
If you are right handed then your left eye would close.
If you are left handed then your right eye would close.
Don't know the reason it has something to do with the fact that you are either left or right brain dependent. Say you are a lefty your brain would not trust the info it is receiving from your right eye plus your perspective would be off for various functioning matters.

My right eye will open because I am right-handed.
your optic nerves go to the back of your head and partly to each hemisphere. it seems blended at that point. my left eye is stronger, not sure why
