it sounds like a "stye"

Eye Syte is a bacterial infection which is due to some obstruction in oil producing glands near eyelids. Styes are seen as small bumps on the eyelids. An Eye stye occurs when staphylococcal bacteria infect one of the tiny glands at the base of the eyelid hairs and then becomes inflamed. An infection bacterium is frequently transferred from one hair shaft to another when rubbing it to relieve itching. Styes are not harmful to vision, and they can occur at any age.

The stye may form on either the inside or the outside of the eyelid. A stye looks like nothing more than an irritating bump on the eyelid. And this is usually true. But untreated styes occasionally spread and become serious infections. It is usually painful, erythematous, and localized. It may produce edema of the entire lid. Purulent material exudes from the eyelash line in external hordeola, while internal hordeola suppurate on the conjunctival surface of eyelid.A sty that develops at the base of an eyelash involving a hair follicle of the eyelid is called as external "hordeolum", whereas the term internal hordeolum refers to a sty arising due to blocked meibomian glands in the eyelid.

is this it you think?

recommend a trip to the doctor

I think you better go for a check up. It may be an infection and that has to be given attention.

It could be an infection in your tear duct, or some other area of the lid. If it is you would need antibiotic drops. See your optometrist.

I believe that any time you have a problem that may effect your Vision you should go to the eye doctor and have it checked out .

you should see an ophthalmologist, an eye doctor.

an optometrist is the one that measures the grade of your eyes for correct lenses
