PRK surgery or Lasic eye surgery? im 13 and want to be in the army.?!
Question: I currently dont wear glasses but im going to the eye doc next week because I have had trouble, my eyes are have been a bit iratated and i've had trouble seeing the clock from about 10-15 metres away (i dident measure lol)
I was told I could stop wearing glasses around a year ago. but wore them since I was 5.
I want to be in the army and I heard for close contact or rough jobs lasic isent a good option.
SO I was wondering what PRK surgery actully does and why it differes from lasic.

You can't get regular lasik until you are 18. But, when you are 18, PRK is the better choice if you are in a combat situation. PRK is better for people who have a higher chance of getting hit in the eye. With lasik, if you get hit in the eye...the flap could get dislodged, where as prk, there isn't a flap.
minium age for lasik is 18 years. there r some other contraindications of lasik.....
as u r 13 so u can't.
You can't get Lasik until you are 18 and you can't join the Army until you graduate, so just wait until then and see how your eyes change. Then consider your options.
