Why in the world is my eye twitching?!

Question: All the insanity jokes aside, I do find it annoying.

And it's not my actual eye persay.

The spot where the eyelashes attach to the eyelid, seems to randomly enjoy fluttering. It's not a controllable thing; I can't make it stop unless I physically close my eye.

It started when I put my mascara back on for the first time in three or so days.

I don't think it's bad mascara; my other eye is fine and neither are itching.

And this hasn't happened before so it's not like it's just one of my bodily "things."

Lol.

Same experience as your muscles twitching in your body. To be honest I use to know the reason for it, but its a common occurrence. My girlfriends eye use to twitch a lot, and mine does occasionally. Mostly my arms and legs will get a twitch, which can be rather annoying at times. I don't believe its anything serious, but I am not a doctor. If you think it could be harmful in some way or does not go away then maybe you should see a doctor.

Found this as well, hope it helps:
"Twitching occurs when a muscle contracts and releases suddenly and involuntarily.
It is very common for muscles to twitch involuntarily from fatigue after strenuous exercise.
In some cases the twitching may be due to simple muscle fatigue, eye strain, stress, drug reactions, and even caffeine. In other cases, it could indicate a disease or situation requiring serious attention.
Twitching generally occurs as a result of an overwrought nervous system unloading impulses. It is most common during rest from stress and strain.

More serious implications:
Parkinson's disease can involve twitching and grimacing, though many other symptoms predominate.
Facial twitching in adults, accompanied by rather severe facial pain, is the result of a facial neuralgia.
An excess of toxic heavy metals in the body such as mercury, aluminum, lead, cadmium and copper can lead to neurological irritation, and twitching.
Neuromuscular function and muscle control require the minerals magnesium, calcium and potassium. A deficiency could be causing tics, trembling or cramping."

It's a muscle spasm usually caused by lack of sleep or stress.

Kept happening to me i think its some sort of spasms, get some sleep.

lol I hate when that happens!!! its so weird you think everyone can see it lol. I don't think its make up, because I'm a Man and don't wear makeup. its a muscle spasm.

have you noticed any flaking of your scalp? does the smell of oranges make your eyes sting? it could be a compacted tear duct. i would contact a specialist

Don't worry, my eye started twitching recently too (it didn't do that when I was younger). I think it's just from stress. If it does it like every ten seconds I might be concerned, but I know several people who have random eye twitches from stress every now and then.

Relax if you can. :)

I get that when I am too stressed out, just take a few BIG claming breaths (in through nose, out through mouth) and it will stop. Also try massaging the eyelid. If that doesn't help go see your doctor.

Nerves, spasms
