My eyes produce unwanted tears. What could be the cause and how to solve the pro!

Question: It could be a few differnt things...
1. If the white part of your eye is pink/ and VERY itchy it could be viral conjuctivitis.

2. You could have eye allergies/ something in the air ie. pollen dust is bugging your eyes causing them to tear. Your Dr. can give you allergy eye drops that will make it better.

3. You could be suffering from dry eyes. I know that sounds crazy, your eyes are watering so how could they be dry right, well what happens is your eyes are trying to lubricate with tears but they are using the watery salty kind that you produce when your cry. Your eyes also produce oily tears. If they are not able producing enough "oily tears" it will try to correct your dryness with the salty tears. You can take omega three/ fish oil tablets can help, or a dr. can prescribe medication like restasis that help you to produce the oily tears better. Also over the counter eye drops can help. Such as refresh or optiv. You want to stay away from the ones that advertise to get the "red out" they will only make it worse.

hey there

i've laready answered a simalar question to this but what it sounds like you have is 'eye strain'. trust me i suffer it too!!

the best thing to do is visit the optitions and get a eye test. if i'm right, you may have to wear glasses if u don't already. but not all the time, just to watch tv or read etc...

another thing to do is that if u wear loads of mascara, cut down on it! it does loads of good!!!

hope this is useful
xx good luck

The cause will be an over active tear duct nothing to worry about will sort it's self out very soon no need for any medication

Are you taking any prescription drugs. I have heard that this tearing is a side effect of certain drugs. Talk to your doctor.

Mine too - I havn't cried in years but my eyes (one or the other) frequently dribble away in the wind, cold, or sun.

Perfectly natural and normal, a clean handkerchief solves the problem for me!
