Question: I just got my sister back from 17 years in Cuba, She was abused
and often put in the hospital. She even said she was hit in the face with a two by four, and stabbed in the head with a screwdriver several times. She is blind all the way in one eye and can see very little in the other, When I took her to the hospital here the one time they would see her until I received all her ID forms that she has cataract in the back of her eyes. is that a form of Glaucoma?

No, cataracts are not a form of glaucoma.
Glaucoma is a disease that causes damage to the optic nerve, the amount of nerve damage determines the vision loss.
Cataracts affect the lens inside the eye. The lens grows your whole life, as you get older the lens becomes thicker and harder, eventually it becomes so hard it becomes opaque, and stops light getting into the eye. Cataracts can be caused by trauma as well, the force from the injury can make the lens stop light getting into the eye. They can normally be removed but if the eye is badly injured then it may not be an option, the doctors will be able to tell you.

Cataracts are not Glaucoma. They are different anomolies. Look them up independantly to get more thourough explainations. basically cataracts are a couding of the lense in your eye, where glaucoma is a pressure issue and a nerve issue. They have nothing to do with each other at all. A person can have one or the other or both.
