That's ridiculous!. You will not get an eye infection or any infection for that matter from washing your hands with tap water from TJ!.

Surprisingly, the water in Tijuana and Rosarito comes from the Colorado River!. The 'problem', if any at all, lies in the condition of the pipes carrying the water and the type of bacteria and minerals that remain in it after filtration which could upset an untrained stomach!.

So, you might want to stay away from drinking it just to be on the safe side, BUT for personal hygiene, even that of foreigners, tap water is perfectly fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

That's something I've never thought about before!. No!. I would avoid using the tap water for that at all costs, just too risky for a potential eye infection!.

I don't think hand sanitizer is good either, because of the other chemicals in it, it might irritate your eyes!. If you can bring some contact lens cleaning solution, or even just use bottled water in Mexico!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'd say screw it and wear glasses!. When I was in India, I just used tap water and contact cleaner!. If you're worried about bacteria, after washing your hands, rinse your application fingers with the contact solution!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i use to live in the state of Sinaloa and i never got sick from tap water!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.although TJ is VERY DIRTY!. to answer your question just use purified bottled water!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

hand sanitizer is a bad idea- it has alcohol, your eyes will BURN!.

If you're really worried about the local water, my method is simply drying off my hands, and then rinsing them with a little bit of contact solution- not a lot, just enough to get your hands wet!. Problem solved, you KNOW that your solution is safe for eyes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just wash your hands with regular soap dry them and then pour the solution along with the contacts in the middle of your dominate palm then move it around to clean it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
