Welcome to the world of Chronic Dry Eye!. First stop, an ophthalmologist- find out if your dry eye is caused by a lack of tear production or insufficient oil in tears (quickly evaporating tears)- in the first, cyclosporin drops or plugs might help, in the second, antibiotics might!.

Sadly, for most people with long-term dry eye, it's here to stay!. The good news is, there are tons of things you can do to make dry eye a bit more easy to manage!.

First, chuck the contacts!. No matter what anyone says, contacts and dry eye are a really bad and dangerous mix, because you're just setting up yourself for a really bad scratch!. The limited protection glasses will provide from wind WILL make a small difference!.

Second, when outside, wear wrap-around or even moisture chamber glasses!. If the best possible seal from a grocery store doesn't do it for you, a pair of 'moisture chamber' sunglasses from http://www!.dryeyeshop!.com/ will- they're expensive, but a seriously good investment!.

Third, STOP putting water in your eyes- bad! Switch to a preservative free eye drop, like 'refresh dry eye therapy' in single use vials, not bottles!. The stinging is to be expected- it means your eyes are really, really dry!. The itching, however, means you're probably allergic to the eye drops you're using!. Consider some of the eye drops sold from the dry eye shop- some people have little luck with them, others swear by them, so it's worth trying!. That said, if your eye is dry, don't neglect drops thinking it'll help anything- 'weaning yourself off' while you're still dry is a great way to damage your eyes, but it wont reduce your use of drops!.

Forth, try a nice warm compress on your eyes nightly- use a clean pot (one never used to cook anything, you can find them for like 7$ from walmart or ikea) and a CLEAN and NEVER WASHED WITH SOAP cloth- buying a cheap undershirt and cleaning it by hand (with only water) works!. Warm the water until it is warm or slightly hot, but not boiling, and wring out some but not all of the liquid, and leave it on your closed eyes for five minutes each night- it's very soothing!.

I hope this helps!. As someone with chronic dry eye, let me tell you, I feel your pain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

u can apply the juice or pieces of pumpkeen around ur eyes i mean "keera dosa " pieces try it over it works a lotWww@Answer-Health@Com

DO NOT USE CONTACT CLEANER!!!!!!!!! IT IS MADE TO CLEAN AND DISINFECT YOUR CONTACTS< NOT TO PUT DIRECTLY IN YOUR EYES!!!!!!!!

You could try using a contact rewetting solution, or try going a couple days without wearing them!. Your eyes may need a break!. If the dryness persists, talk to your opthomalogist or family doctor about it!. It could be allergies or a problem with your tear ducts!. Good Luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Redin is right!. Do NOT use the cleaning solution directly on your eyes!.

I use saline on tissue to briefly dampen my eyes and it helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
