Ok!.!.!.!.there's some right and wrong info in the ladybug's answer!. I currently work for a Private Lasik Provider and previously worked for a chain similar to Lasik Plus!. To determine the right place for you first of all have consultations at both centers!.!.!.!.!.second: get educated on the procedure, what they do there(lasik:standard or custom////intalase////etc!.) and the surgeon(his or her background, how many procedures he/she has done, stats) and lastly what is their technology(laser, testing equipment, keratome, etc)!. As far as cost is concerned the private practice is not always more expensive because they do more advanced surgery!.!.!.!.In fact, I've come across alot more private practices that don't offer Intralase(one of the latest advancements in lvc) than do!. And both the nationwide lasik provider I used to work for and the Lasik Plus that I was familiar with offered intralase and lifetime enhancement guarantees!.!.!.!.however, this does differ from place to place!. Not all Lasik pluses have intralase!. Best thing to do is your research!.!.!.they are your eyes! Don't make this choice solely based on cost!.!.!.!.it should not be the deciding factor!. The deciding factors should be a!. where you feel most comfortable, b!. what you are getting for your money(for ex!. lifetime commitment, postop care w/the surgeon, informed and helpful staff), c!. surgeon's experience, d!. technology in use!.!.!.hope this helps!. The Lasik Market is highly competitive and usually a low cost procedure is indicative of a "bare bones" deal!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It depends what type of lasik you want!. Private practices tend to do CustomVue lasik rather than conventional lasik like lasik plus!. I've researched the difference between lasik plus and a private practice in my town!. I chose the private doc in my town because he did CustomVue (which is more expensive than conventional lasik and safer with less chances or glare and halo)!. I actually got it done yesterday (woo hoo I can see wonderful!)!. If you are getting conventional lasik, you should call to see which place has a newer machine with all the latest upgrade!. I've read that Lasik Plus doesn't always have the newest technology, but I'm not sure that's 100% true!. Also compare the doctors credentials!.!.!.who's had more successful surgery outcomes!. If they have the same experience and same technology, I would go with the cheaper one!. Make sure that both have everything included in the price though, because sometimes they are tricky like that! :) Also, private places tend to have a lifetime retreatment policy, where as I don't believe Lasik Plus does!. Good Luck!! I'm sooo glad I did it!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
