Question: When i get my prescription from the opticians, does it include the PD on it!?
this is in the UK!.!.!.i went to the opticians to get my prescription but they didnt measure the PD, i think thats the distance between my eyes so they can centre the lenses!. but i have heard that some places do it!. is it meant to in the UK or does it just depend on the place i visit!? i went to specsavers, but i want to get the frame from somewhere else!. thanksWww@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
PD stands for "pupil-distance", in other words this is the measurement between the pupils!. The opthalmologist will or will not measure the PD but it is neccessary in order to have your specs made!. An optical-receptionist will easily measure it for you if it isn't written on the prescription!. It makes no difference which country you are in!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Most doctors don't take a PD!. They leave that up to the person making the glasses!. You should be able to get a frame elsewhere and bring it in for lenses anywhere you want!. Just can't order lenses on-line without the PD!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
