Question: Is sleeping in disposable contact lenses bad!?
ok i sleep in my contacts sometimes and people tell me its bad for me eyes!.!.any know if it really is or not!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes!.!.!. I am a full-time student and sometimes when I'm up late studying it's easier to save that 1!.5 minutes that it takes to take out my contacts and just to go bed!.!.!. but my eye dr has told me over and over how bad it is and I don't do it anymore!. You can get protein deposits on your contacts that change the way they correct your vision or cause irritation in your eye!. Also, less oxygen gets to your eye when you have the contacts in (even if they are the extra-oxygen-permeable kind) so it's important to rest your eyes at night (i've heard at least 6 hours a night) to make sure that all the cells in your eye get all that oxygen that the contact has been keeping out all day!. It also gives time for your eye to remoisturize and repair itself after a day of hard work & environmental stress!. If you're going to be up late and not sleep much, it's better to take out your contacts while you're studying and wear glasses long enough for your eyes to get a break!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
You shouldn't do that!.
Your eyes already have lesser oxygen reaching them with contacts on!. Imagine closing your eyes during sleep with them on! They will literally suffocate!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My brother did that and at his eye checkup he had tiny blisters all over his eyes and couldn't wear contacts again for a month!. If and when I do it by accident I get eye infections without fail!. It won't hurt once in a while but try not to!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
It is VERY bad!. Sleeping in contacts, not cleaning them or cleaning them improperly, or using them longer than they are supposed to be used can make you get eye infections or go

I am totally serious--my eye doctor had a 15 year old patient who got a corneal ulcer from improper contact use, and went permanently blind in one eye!. And she had only been wearing them for a couple years!. Please don't ever sleep in them!. Clean them every day in the proper manner, and throw them away when you are supposed to!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes it is very bad for the eyes!. try not to wear it to sleep and if u need to do so, get those silicone lenses!. It allows more oxygen flow, better for sleepingWww@Answer-Health@Com
