Looks like Spectacle isn't around, but I can give you some answers you are looking for!.

One eye adjusted for near and one for distance is called monovision!. That is really something you have to try for a couple of weeks to know if it will work for you !. Some people adapt quite well, and others never do!. Those aren't multifocal lenses!.

Multifocal contacts are far from perfect!. You can expect "adequate" vision for normal activities , but not for the needs you have!.

Multifocal contacts give you either good distance and only fair close vision, or good near vision and only fair distance!.

Multi focal contacts don't fulfill the needs yet of those who need good vision at many types of different tasks!.

Yes, you certainly need glasses as a backup no matter what kind of contacts you wear!. Some days, contacts just can't be worn because of a minor infection , allergies, ect!.

The prescription will be based on the same thing , but not neccessarily the same numbers!. So in other words, the contact Rx can't be used to get glasses!.

Hope I helped you some!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Try the soflens or purevision multi focal lenses!. They are great and doesn't give much problem!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
