White eye reflex?!

Question: White eye reflex!?
Hi before I ask this question,I must tell you that last week my baby was checked by an ophthalmologist and with dilated pupils in a darkened room!. No abnormalities found
I am taking photos of her and wheareas in some of the pics the eyes are red,in others one of the eyes are white!. Not always the same eye!. Could this be harmless!. I spoke to my doc over the phone and she said my daughter has been seen by the experts and they would have picked it up!.
Should I just accept she is fine!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Just to be sure, seek a second opinion from another ophthalmologist!.

I have to say that it sounds like the lighting playing a trick on the pics!.

However, a white eye(pupil) reflex can also suggest

1) Childhood eye tumour (Retinablastoma)
2) Congential cataract
3) Coat's disease (Retinal vascular disorder, rare)
4) PHPV (Persistent Hyperplastic Primary vitreous)

The ophthalmologist would have ruled out the above during the dilated eye examination but you may want to play safe anyway

Hope this helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com

Could just be a blonde fundus, that is normal in some people!.
I took my niece in for the same thing, no problems at all!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
