Why are eye exams usually conducted in darkened rooms?!


Question: Why are eye exams usually conducted in darkened rooms!?
This is a question in one of my classes that I cannot find a solid answer for!. Can you help!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm guessing that:

Frequently, when doing an eye exam, they put drops in the person's eyes to dialate the pupil (makes it easier to get a correct evaluation) I suppose they darken the room because the person's eyes would be more sensitive to light with the pupil wide open and the normal level of lighting might be irritating, or mess up the test!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
