Do the cheap sunglasses and reading glasses in shops damage your eyes?!

Question: Do the cheap sunglasses and reading glasses in shops damage your eyes!?
I've seen many people buy them from places like discount department stores and $2 shops!. I heard people saying things like they can damage your eyes!.

How is that possible!? Are the lenses on them dodgy!? Just curious!

If they don't do damage or any harm, then why are the ones people order from their optometrists so expensive!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Sunglasses would not damage your eyes, but they may not offer the same protection as a better pair!. They will usually have a sticker on them to tell you that they are UVA and UVB protected!. I think most of them are, even the five dollar ones!. The problem with them is they are cheap and break easily!.

If you are referring to prescription eyeglasses made at a discount store optical department, they are held to the same standard as every other high-end optical shop in the country!.

The reading glasses off the shelf are for people with presbyopia, usually older people who only wear them to read!. If you wear glasses for distance, the odds of your prescription being available off the shelf is probably about one in a million!. They would definitely give you a headache, but I don't know about long term wear!. I don't think you could tolerate them long enough to damage your eyes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
