My 9 year old daughter has started to blink a lot?!

Question: My 9 year old daughter has started to blink a lot!?
My other half thinks it's nothing to worry about but I'm not so sure!.It's mainly one eye and I've noticed that she spends a lot of time rubbing her eye after shes been blinking a lot!.I don't know if it's become a habit now but it looks like she has a tic!.
I'm not one of these parents that rushes off to the doc's the minute my children have a symptom of something unless my mothers intuition tells me it's something more serious!.If it's become a habit now,how do I get her to stop!?
And what are the signs with blinking a lot that would tell me it's something more serious than a habit!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I was always doing odd stuff like this at her age!. I grew out of it eventually!. Just get Her checked out to be safe and enjoy your daughter's life!

I started wearing glasses when I was 10 and probaly needed them at 9!. I worked selling glasses for a while and seen alot of that age start getting near sighted- can't see far away!. She could be blinking because she is straining to see!. Walmart has a free eye test at there vision center if you wanted to check it that way!. It is not an exam, just the test!. I would get her an exam before 5th grade expessaly if you or her father wears glasses!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A regular eye exam will generally not red-flag dry eye unless it's severe enough to have caused corneal damage!.

Dry eye sounds pretty likely!. You'll want to take her to an ophthalmologist and find out if that's true- if it is, many things can help, including the most simple of using eye drops!. You should always use single-use preservative free vials of eye drops, sold at most drug stores, and not bottled drops- the preservatives can actually serve to further irritate a dry eye!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i started doing this, sometimes it can be early stages of pinkeye
or an eyeinfection but make sure she has no presure building up in the eye this could infact blind her one eye im sure it not that bad tho just go to ur local walmart and by eyedrops and some eye wash it should clear up in a matter of days if she does not have the pinkeye!.

I am an optometrist and from my experience she may have dry eyes or a mild case of conjuctivitis!. Its nothing to be to concerned about but i do suggest going to the doctor if it keeps presisting!. she may also have an ingrown eyelash that might be irritating her!. Try some eye drops preferrably lubricating ones first and see how you go!. There is also eye wash from Bausch and Lomb that might be worth a shot!Www@Answer-Health@Com

i dont have allergies but a couple of times a year one eye gets irritated drives me crazy!.!.!. but you should ASK HER see if she knows she is doing it!.!.!. if she does its not a tick!.!.!.!. it could be from being infront of the comp or reading she might have a stieWww@Answer-Health@Com
