My eye dr. keeps trying to switch me over to disposable contacts.?!

Question: My eye dr!. keeps trying to switch me over to disposable contacts!.!?
For the last 8 years, I have used daily wear and stretched their life times out to 2 years for each set because I wear them part of the time and glasses the other!. Disposables seem to cost more because they don't last as long!. I have perfect eye health each time I go but he keeps trying to switch me over!. Is this some kind of marketing ploy!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
No, it's much more about the health of your eyes!.

Conventional lenses like you have are almost dinosaurs now!.

Precisely because you stretch them out to 2 years is why you shouldn't be wearing conventional lenses anymore!. You aren't doing your eyes any good like that!. Those lenses have to be so plugged up by now, there is very little oxygen getting through them anymore!.

Monthly disposables can usually be stretched out to 6 or 8 weeks if they are worn just part time!.!.!.so that is only about 70!.00 for a year!.!.!.!.and soooo much healthier for your eyes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The idea is that disposables will be safer because they'll generally be cleaner than non-disposables!.

I think he's probably right, but I'd be wary of changing something that works!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It seems like it would be if he is trying to sell you something from the eye clinic he works at!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, it is for the suiablity of the user eyes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
