I have pinkeye but my parents want to make me go to school...good idea or bad?!

Question: I have pinkeye but my parents want to make me go to school!.!.!.good idea or bad!?
I just got pinkeye this morning, and my parents say I'm going to school no matter what, regardless if they can get me to a doctor or not!. I'm not quite sure how aggressive it is in infecting others, so does anyone here have a legit medical opinion on whether I should go or not!? I would be fine to go if it was safe, but I don't want to go around infecting people, especially at this late stage of the year!. Please cite if you can, as my parents will just think its some idiot with their own opinion of you don't!. Thanks a lot!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Pinkeye is very contagious!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

VERY bad idea!!! If you have pink eye it is extremily contagious and you should not be at school!. THey need to take you to the doc to get antibiotics so you dont spread it to other students!. I have had before and it is very uncomfortable!. You probably wont even be able to concentrate on school work anyway plus you will be infecting others!. Not goodWww@Answer-Health@Com

It's very, very contagious!. Even if you GO to school, they will probably send you home right away!. I'm sure someone would spot it and you'd be home anyway!.

I know from experience when I was in Kindergarten!. The teacher saw I had it, and I immediately was taken out of class, to the nurse, and HAD to get a ride home and was advised to go see a doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Pink eye is very contagious, The school will ask you to go home and not return until the doctor says it is ok for you to return!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

pinkeye is contagious takes two to three days not to be after docter says need dropsWww@Answer-Health@Com

lol PINKEYE will not get you a day off from school im sorry buddy!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't go!.!.!.U will spread it around,Www@Answer-Health@Com

I certainly wouldn't want to have to lose a day of work to stay home with my kid because your parents were irresponsible!. Generally, pink eye is not any more contagious than the common cold, however, what ever you touch that anyone else has access to can spread it!.

Go to school and tell the nurse your eyes are bothering you!. She will recognize this and your parents will get a call to come get you, which may result in more days home for you!.

If you are seen first thing in the morning and are prescribed drops, you most likely can go the next day if you have been taking the antibiotics for 24 hrs!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Pinkeye, or conjunctivitis, is highly contagious!. It's not fair to other kids (LIKE MINE!) who risk getting infected when you come to school without having first treated the condition!. My recollection is that once you start taking those eye drops, that work rather quickly, you will be much less likely to infect others!. Our school nurse would take your parents' head on a platter! I understand the position they are in, and it is very difficult for working parents to make the time to get this done!. But they should also know that conjunctivits can be very serious and even result in blindness if left untreated!. Why on earth take the chance!? They should at least take you to the doctor Monday morning, get the drops, and squirt them in your eye before dumping you off at school!.

Don't your parents know that if you are found with pinkeye in school, they will not only send you home right away, but also say you can't come back until you are symptom free for 24 hours!? That means you miss school half of Monday, and all of Tuesday!. I'm sure that's not what they want!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
