Lazy eye can be genetic, although no-one in my family has it, but I have!.

My children do not have it either & their vision is perfect!.

If your friend tells her health visitor when the baby has its check ups!. They will monitor the baby more closely!. My children were seen at the eye hospital from the age of 18 months to 5 years!.

Hope that I have helped!.

Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have learned that eye turns can be genetic, although I'm not sure of the details on this subject!. Eye turns can be treated effectively, though, so if she is very concerned, she can take the baby to an optometrist and have him/her checked out!. It takes the eyes years to develop, so as long as the child is checked out before about the age of 5, most eye turn problems should be correctable with little or no visual acuity loss!.

Really, I wouldn't worry about it right now, but I do suggest she take her child in for an exam at a young age!. Really this is a good idea for all kids!. Tell her to enjoy her pregnancy and good luck to the family!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
