Long sighted or Far sighted, or Hyperopia ( the real term) doesn't just mean reading glasses are needed!.

When you see someone whose eyes look bigger and magnified behind their glasses!.!.!.they are hyperopic!.

+ power lenses aren't always just for close up!.

Most people who reqiure reading glasses are presbyopic, a different condition than hyperopia!.

Hyperopia is when the image ( in theory) would form clearly behind the retina instead of on it!.!.!.

Presbyopia, is when the lens of the eyes lose the ability to change shape to focus at near objects!.

Nearsighted ( myopia) is when the image would ( in theory) focus in front of the retina instead of on it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm short sighted!. You might think that means I don't see as well as you, but I read and sew and do finnicky things without my specs because I see fine at short distances!. This is because the lenses in my eyes are a bit out of focus (squashed, I think)!.
People who are long sighted have lenses which are out of focus in the opposite way (elongated/stretched)!. They can see further than you with more clarity, but have difficulty with close work!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The medical name is hyperopia!. It means that you can focus on things a long way away, but not on things that are close to you!. This means that you would need glasses to read!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
