Question: Transitions!.!.!.!.!.!.!?
ok so, i went to the eye doctor and they told me that I could get the transitions lenses and that stuff, but i said no!. I think they make you look kinda dumb (no offense to those who have them!.) anyway, i found out today my dad called and told them to put in the transitions lenses!. i was so mad!. my glasses were so cute, but now i will be sitting in class and i will look like i am blind!.

what is your opinion on these lenses!? ugly, cool!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
They take about 15 seconds to darken and about 15 minutes to lighten up!. You will be fine!. YOu might end up loving it!. If you hate it, take it back in the first 30 days and ask your optician if you can have them remade as a NON ADAPT and tell them that they give you headaches!. Their lab should be able to remake them clear at no charge for you!. Ask and find out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Artificial light such as ones in rooms will not darken the lenses!. You wouldn't look blind - they take around 10 seconds to adjust!.

I had them when I was in Year 6 - I found them cool until in Year 7 on Photos Day, I had forgotten to take them off and I ended up looking like a blindie - the photographer didn't even bother telling me! That annoyed me and I switched to contacts!.

They're cool otherwise!. Transitions may not be necessary for people our age though!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

no worries!. they will not be dark when you are inside!. (well at least for the first minute or so) the uv rays from the sun are what trigger the lenses to darken, and since there are no uv rays indoors, your lenses will be clear!. they, do, however always have a slight tint to them, even when they are clear!. if this bothers you, let your dad know and you can probably have them remade without the coating!.

also, they will not darken inside your car!. again, the uv rays are what darken the lenses, and the windows do not let uv rays through, so you will still need sunglasses in the car!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Unless you have awfully bright lights in your classroom your glasses will be clear inside!. They only darken when you are out in the sun!. Besides, since most young people think sunglasses are cool why would transitions no also be cool!? They are just sunglasses when needed without having to go to the trouble of changing glasses!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think they're quite nice!. They usually don't darken in artificial indoor light, and turn completely black (or brown or whatever other color they are) only when it's blindingly bright outside!. I often find myself silently laughing at my friends as their eyes get burned out when it's extremely sunny xDWww@Answer-Health@Com

If they are staying dark inside, you should inquire about the material and brand of lens you received!.

Some do work better (more rapid change and darker in sun, but also get clearer more quickly indoors) than others!. Transitions is a name brand photochromic lens, but most people use the two words interchangeably!. I don't want to be a commercial for any specific brand because I use several, but I will say that some of the less expensive brands or older versions of certain brands do not work that great!.

Glass photos are best, but heavy and not shatter resistant!. Low index plastics would rank second on my list, Higher indexes would follow, and the polycarbonate photos would be last!. Depending on your Rx, frame, and age they may not all be available to you!.

With that ridiculously long explanation out of the way, I think they are generally a good product!. You have to decide if they are cool to you!. Everyone should have sunglasses for protection (mostly UV, which most clear lenses also block, but as some research indicates also from bright light), and you can't beat the convenience of only needing one pair to do two jobs!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
