My eyes have been extremly red and irratated any suggestions?!

Question: My eyes have been extremly red and irratated any suggestions!?
I woke up one morning with a congested nose, and eyes crusted shut!. I used allergy drops and it helped clear some redness, but now 4 days later, without any congestion!. Both of my eyes are still very red but only crust minimally during sleep!. I have switched my contacts many times within these couple days and worn my glasses as much as possible after work hours!. What could this possibly be, and what steps should i follow to help my appearance of eyes!. I deal with many clients and has hindered my communication with them!. I have an eye appt!. in 2 weeksWww@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds like you may have Viral Conjunctivitis since you had nasal congestion that was there and now its not, and you have some crusting and redness (i'm guessing it was a cold!?) If it's viral, it will have to run it's course and should be gone in 10-14 days!. I would think if it was allergic you would still have the congestion unless you have removed yourself from what was causing the allergic reaction at which point you should of seen improvement with your eyes!. Unless your eyes are still bothered by the allergy in some way!? The only other issue is it could be bacterial, only a doctor would know for sure and antibiotic drops would help the condition!. Even without the drops I've read bacterial conjunctivitis will clear up on its own if you take the right steps to throw away what could be could be harboring the bacteria (anything that has touched your eyes/face), wash your pillowcases/towels everyday until it clears up, be careful about touching your eyes throughout the day, etc!. I know from personal experience the drops really do help if your have a bacterial infection!. My eyes were so itchy and red when I had bacterial conjunctivitis and the antibiotics helped shorten the duration of the infection!. If for some reason your still struggle with the redness than gets some eye drops for it, this will help shrink the blood vessels in your eyes!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like a bacterial eye infection because of the crust in the morning!. I would try to get to an eye doctor sooner!. And don't wear your contacts at all, and throw out any you have worn!. Also, infections can be very contagious, so try not to touch your eyes, and keep your hands clean!.

Really it's just best to see an eye doctor!. Whether you have an infection, dry eye, or allergies, you can get the right treatment!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
