how do i convince her!?!?
im 14 and play socccer and it is a pain in the *** to play in galsses and im scared to do a header!. plus i think thry make me ugly and yeah!. basic reasons!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm 16 and I was in the same situation as you not long ago!. I truly feel sorry for you but your mum is just simply worried about you without any knowledge about this subject because she loves you!.
Contacts can make you look better on the outside and improve self esteem (it did this for me)!.
If you play sports, it is much better you have them!. If not, the balls can hit your glasses, with shattered glass/plastic going into your eyes!. On the other hand, contacts can avoid this but you have no outer shield protecting you at the same time!.
Tell her the above and show her how responsible you are!. Are you prepared to maintain your cleanliness and be patient!? If not, they may not be for you!. They require a lot of time!.
Tell her to take you to the optometrist and he/she will train you on using them!. You will get samples to use for around a week!. Use this time wisely to show her you are capable!.
The chemicals do not harm your eye if you use them properly!. Without them, your contacts would be contaminated and will cause infections if used!. Apart from your eyes, you use chemicals through taking medication! Does that cause problems!?

You have all my sympathy!! I started wearing contacts when I was 12, also after struggling to convince my parents that I should wear contacts instead of glasses!. You should use the soccer for your main reason to wear contacts!. Keep on reasoning with your mother, wearing contacts is not dangerous at all, she can get that reassurance from the optometrist as well!. If you can only get her to the optometrist!.!.!.he will convince her that going from glasses to contacts will be life changing!. It was for me!. Contacts require a lot of care!.!.!.it's not as simple as putting your glasses on & off!.!.!.technically in the eyes of most eye care professionals you are too young to wear contacts!.
A daily lens requires the least amount of care, you could just wear them for games and toss them afterwards!. If you approach this with your mother in a mature matter and leave out the comments about your glasses being ugly etc!.!.!.there is a frame out there for everyone!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You know, glasses don't make you ugly and such reasons you have!. But if you really want to wear contacts, promise to your mother that you'll wash it every night, and you'll take full responsibility for wearing the contacts!. And if she really wants you to wear glasses, just respect her own decision!.

Have yo utold her all of the reasons why you hate your glasses!? If she hasn't given you a pretty good reason for not allowing you to have contacts, it may be because of how expensive they are compared to glasses!. If money isn't an issue, then just keep bugging her! She'll give in eventually!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Just tell her that you will make sure to take them out every night, that you will wash your hands before you put them in and out!. Basically, tell her you will be responsible and it's really hard to play soccer in glasses, etc!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
