I am 16 and should I wear contact lens?!

Question: I am 16 and should I wear contact lens!?
Hey,
I'm 16 years old and I wear glasses!. I'm really tired of them and I don't want to wear them too!. Some of my friends have recommended me to wear contact lens instead of glasses but really, I feel scared!. I know this sounds unusual, but just the though of putting something into my eyes makes me squirm!
My parents think that it will have a negative effect on my eyes!. So please what do you think I should do!? Is 16 the right age for a boy to wear lens!? Please, I need help!!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is scary at first, and takes a while to get used to putting them in, but it's not painful!. As long as you keep them clean and don't rip them or anything, it should be fine!.

When I got mine, my vision improved and contacts are much less hassle than glasses!.

I would definately reccommend them! Talk to your eye doctor about it, to make sure it would work out for you!.

I started wearing them back in 5th grade and am now 23 and have no problems!. If you're really tired of wearing glasses, contacts are a great solution!. The only way they'll hurt your eyes is if you don't keep them clean!. But as long as you do that, go for it! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

they are perfectly fine, i wore contact lenses for almost 6 years during school!. they make you look cooler!. there will be no negitve affect on your eyes but they are not cheap, because you have to replace them every 8 months!. and you constantly have to keep buying solution for them!. it up to you to decide!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i use contacts i felt the same as you , but wouldnt be without them now!.took a while to be able to get them in and out but the more i did it the better i got,you have nothing to loose by trying good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

I was allowed to get contact lenses at 16 and have had no adverse effects (now in mid twenties)!.

The best thing to do is make an appointment with your eye doctor and take your parents!. Tell your eye doctor that you are interested in them and can s/he discuss options, etc with you and your parents!. Ask lots of questions!.

In the end, optometrists know the most about eyes, so they will tell you if they think you are a candidate for them and they can make you and your parents informed about the risks/benefits!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
