Possible scratched eye, worth a trip to the emergency room?!

Question: Possible scratched eye, worth a trip to the emergency room!?
My brother in law was installing a sink, and he came out and said his eye was irritated!. We most likely assumed it was either caulk or sawdust, and it was bloodshot, and there is a puffy spot!. We flushed it out, and he says it's still blurry and painful, but we don't know if it's worth going to the emergency room for!. I have a little medical training, but not really with eyes, but it looks better than it did before!. I'm thinking it's just scratched!. The bloodshoty-ness is significantly less, but I'd rather be safe than sorry!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Leave it overnight, use some lubricant eye drops, and if it is irritated in the morning visit an optometrist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm not expert, but If he's not in excruciating pain, I wouldn't take him to the ER, just because he has to wait very long, and they still might not even see him!. Try taking him to an eye doctor there usually isn't that many patients, and with his condition they'll probably take him first!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should probably visit an opthamologist, just to make sure he doesn't have anything serious!. I don't think it's worth a trip to the emergency room, but he really should see a doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If it's still irritated tomorrow, maybe he should go to a walk in clinic!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
