What is your take on / experience with Laser Eye Surgery? better than Contact Le!

Question: What is your take on / experience with Laser Eye Surgery!? better than Contact Lenses!?
so I really want to get Laser Eye Surgery done!. I'm not concerned about the cost because I spend about $1000 per year on my eyes for check-ups, new glasses, new contacts, glasses cleaners, contact cases/cleaners, etc!.

so i was just wondering what YOUR experience with laser eye surgery is and/or what your opinions are!. i'm kind of scared to do it, but the thing that is pushing me to do is the thought that Contact Lenses are NOT anymore safe!. I actually almost lost vision in one of my eyes because of an infection i got from wearing contact lenses!. and i read somewhere that laser eye surgery can't cause blindness!. any suggestions!?

also, i'm scared of the long-term effects!? are there any!? can anything happen 10 - 20 years AFTER having the surgery!? or will you be fine for the rest of your life!?

again, i'm really not worried about the costs; these are my only set of eyes and i'm willing to spend whatever i need to have good vision and keep them healthyWww@Answer-Health@Com

I am glad to see that you are starting to ask questions about refractive surgery because you cannot make a well informed decision until you have all of the information!. I am an eye doctor who has almost an entire practice devoted to "cleaning up" bad results from refractive surgery!. On a daily basis I see the worst of the worst - people travel in from all over the world to see me!. People who have had results so bad that they have lost not only their vision, but their jobs, careers, homes, spouses, and yes even their lives (suicide) due to poor refractive surgical results!. Although you had a bad infection from your contact lenses, risk is significantly greater (both short term and long term) with ANY refractive surgical procedure!. All this being said, I am not against refractive surgery as there are still many many people who have had their lives positvely impacted by refractive surgery!. The important thing to understand is that you need to be comfortable with the risk that you are taking with the only set of eyes you will have in your lifetime!. Please read some of my patient's stories at http://www!.noblur!.com/patie!.html to begin to understand just how pervasive refractive surgery can be to your life!. After this, please go to the FDA website and do a search for "Lasik Complications" to start to understand some of the problems that can occur and the rates that they can occur!. This is a good place to start your educational process on a decision that absolutely will impact the rest of your life!.

All the best with whatever you decide!.

Sincerely,
Dr!. MallerWww@Answer-Health@Com
