Question: Haven't been able to see well out of left eye for over 6 weeks!.!?
Optha!. tells me that I have Blepharitis is both eyes and need plugs perhaps, but I wanted to know if my eyesight will ever come back to normal!? He tells me that my oil glands are not working right especially in left eye!. Has anyone else ever had this problem!? I also am a contact wearer!. I have also used every kind of eyedrop know to man and nothing really helps, also do the lid scrubs and the compresses!. This not being able to see well is very stressful!. Just wondering if this has ever happened to anyone else!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
For the blepharitis, get a warm wash cloth (hot as you can stand it -not so hot it burns you) and wring it out!. Wrap it around your finger and close your eyes!. Do a gentle scrub/massage where your eyelashes grow in!. Then look upward and do the lower lid!. Do this twice a day as part of your routine!. It serves two purposes!. The heat and massaging action stimulates your oil glands to work as well as they can and loosens up any flaking/crusting along the eyelids associated with the blepharitis!. Sometimes, a medicated ointment is needed to reduce the inflammation and possible infection of your lids!. Your doctor will prescribe this if he deems it necessary!. The lid scrubs help keep both blepharitis and dry eye at bay to a point!.

The plugs will help keep what tears you do have around longer, but they aren't always as effective as we might hope!.

Artificial tears may help as well!. Soothe XP (this is over the counter)has shown promise with the type of dry eye you mention!. You must not place it in your eye with the lenses!. You can put them in 10 minutes after use!. It does blur your vision for 30 seconds or so!. See this website for further information: http://www!.bausch!.com/en_US/consumer/vis!.!.!.

Restasis (a precription med) alone or in conjuction with the steroid, Lotemax, may help as well!. Ask your doctor about these if his current treatments aren't doing the trick!.

Additionally, the contact lens you wear may make a difference!. Proclear and Acuvue Oasys have been helpful for my dry-eye patients!. Even better is the Proclear Daily!. You get a fresh, clean lens every day!.

Finally, with Dry Eye, we can't cure the problem, we can only treat the symptoms!. Therefore, if you stop doing any of the prescribed treatments, the condition can worsen!.

Hope this helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Blepharitis is a skin condition on your eyelids and the plugs are for you tear ducts, the tears are not staying in your eyes long enough to lubricate it!.
Contact lenses users require even more tears than usual!. If you've been using a lot of tear drops and that hasn't helped the plugs are REALLY going to help!. There are temporary plugs if you want to try it out first before you have permanent plugs put it!. Ask you ophthalmologist!. and YES, blepharitis can impare your vision and so does dry eyes!.
I hope this helped!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
