I am born with a lazy eye pls help anyone???????!

Question: I am born with a lazy eye pls help anyone!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
i am 17!. i was born with a lazy eye, ( one eye cannot see that well as the other ) medical science has improved significantly, so i was wondering if i could wear contact lenses ( MY EYE DEGRES ARE DIFFRENT ) , one is 200 plus the other 400 plus !.
Also i was wondering is lasik would be a good idea and would be possible, because i have always been told doctors cannot do anything, its the eye which is naturally weak :(!.!. i hate wearing specs!.!. so pls help =)

i have a lazy eye too, but my eyes are VERY different!. My right eye has 20/20 vision and the other one is extremely shortsighted!. Mine are so different and have been so different for such a long time that the brain blocks out the left (the weaker) eye, so i only see with one eye!.
I have glasses too, but i only wear them when my other eye gets tired from doing all of the work!.
Yes, you could wear contact lenses (i've asked my optometrist) and i would choose these first over lasik!. Having a laser eye operation is terribly dangerous, no matter how far science has advanced!. Ive heard from family and friends that have had laser eye surgury that you can see well in the day, but the night vision is blurry and people with jobs that require good sight, even poliece, after they have had this operation are not allowed to work at night because of this!.
Considering that you have a naturally weak eye, i would think that this operation would be out of your choices, but you should ask your doctor for i am not one to comment on these types of things!. You could also ask the lasik place if operating on naturally weak eyes will be successful!.
Hope this helps :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

A lazy eye is really a misnomer!. It is really a "lazy brain, the visual center" As a rule, after say 14 years of age, a "lazy eye" is not improveable, because the developmental stage of brain growth is over by then!. You are 17 and probably would not have improved vision on that eye no matter what was done!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Lasik is a type of vision correction only!. It will not correct your lazy eye!. I used to work in optics and patients with lazy eyes just used to have to carry out exercises for their eyes!. Your optometrist should be able to tell you which exercise is best for you!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My doctor has had me doing eye exercises for years!. it has helped because my scrip has changed for the better!. Take you finger and put it on your nose!. Keep your eyes on your finger and slowly move it away from your nose then back!. I repeat this twice a day!. I know it sounds crazy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
