Congrats on getting contacts!! Your doctor or contact lens tech will take eye measurements (done by light) to determine the best fitting contact for you!. If you have dry eyes, please be sure to mention it because of the different types of contacts available!. They will show you the difference between a contact being the right side in instead of the wrong side (you can tell by how it cups) and will explain to you how to insert the contact!. If you are unable to do it after several attempts they may do it for you!. You will not leave with the contacts until they and you feel that your comfortable with putting contacts in and taking them out!. They will take you back in the exam room and have you read the eye chart again to make sure you can see well and it is the right Rx for you!. You will also be set up on a wear schedule, 4 hours to start and then add time each day!. You will need to schedule a return check appointment in approx 2 weeks!. Please be sure to wear your contacts in for that appointment and be sure to have them in for at least 2 hours before your appointment so they have time to settle!. If you lose, rip or tear a lens, please call them for a replacement right away so you can still work on your wear time schedule!.

If you are unable to touch your eye and/or worried about them doing it, please go to the store and by some artificial tears like Refresh or something similar!. Start putting drops in 3 or 4 times a day - it is a way to start getting comfortable with touching your eye (just make sure the tip of the bottle doesn't touch your eye)!. There is nothing harmful in any way with these drops - it is strictly just artificial tears!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's not a stupid question, otherwise you wouldn't have asked!

Contact lens appointments usually run that long because the doctor will need to fit the right size contact- they will measure your pupils dilated and constricted!. They will also go through a tutorial with you and teach you how to properly insert them and take them out, and clean them!.

They'll make you do this a couple of times to make sure you're comfortable with doing it on your own!.

It's no big deal, really!. You'll be out of there in no time and on your way to being glasses-free!

Good Luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
