Something in my eye, please help?!

Question: Something in my eye, please help!?
Last week i was showering and got something in my eye, I'm unsure was it was but it didn't feel like soap, just a piece of grit!. I tried washing it out with water as best i could, after i got out i looked in the mirror for hours trying to see what was in there!. i could see nothing!.

I went to bed thinking I had got it out and my eye was just irritated from whatever had been in there!. The next morning it didn't hurt any, but there was a still slight irritation in my right eye!.

it's about nine days later and i still feel that irritation in my eye!. does anyone know what it could be!? still the piece of grit!? a scratch!? it does not feel any worse, the same everyday!. it does not bother me when my eye is open, but whenever i blink or close my eyes!.!.!. there it is!. it's making it hard to fall asleep!.

3:35am and I'm up wondering what's going on!. I think the best thing would be for me to visit a doctor, but I have no health insurance, so you know!.!.!.

Any advice, anyone!?

Thanks in advance!Www@Answer-Health@Com

You very well could have irritated your eye by trying to get whatever it was out!. You could also have a scratch!. If there is a scratch or just mild irritation, you will recover on your own!. What I mean is, you don't really HAVE to see a doctor unless you get an infection or your vision is being obstructed!. I know that an opthamologist wouldn't want me telling you that, but I feel you on the no insurance thing!. If you were to go to a doctor for a scratch (a mild one like that) they would simply prescribe antiobotic drops to ward off or get rid of infection!. You will know if your eye is infected!. There won't just be irritation, it will burn, be really red, and most likely painful or swollen!. If this occurs, you MUST see a doctor!. You can pay cash for this type of thing, and can expect to pay anywhere from 40-100 depending on who you see and what exactly they need to do!. But my suggestion for right now, is tomorrow, go to a pharmacy and buy some eye wash!. Not contact solution or visine, eye wash!. Ask the pharmacist if you need to!. Follow the instructions and make sure that your eye is cleared of anything that might be in it still!. If you have irritation still, you can use visine for a few days, only when you need it, to help with the aggravation!. Visine actually contains an ingredient somewhat like a muscle relaxer, that will sort of numb your eye so you won't be irritated by it!. But really, if you get an infection, you will have to see an opthamologist!. Also, to help you to NOT get an infection, you shouldn't put your fingers on your eyes (they're the dirtiest place on your body) and be wary of using makeup really close to your eye, since makeup brushes (like your mascara wand) can harbor bacteria!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You may still have something in your eye, possibly stuck to the back of your eyelid!. It's difficult for you to see it, especially if it's stuck to the upper eyelid!. You may also simply have scratch that isn't healing properly!. See your eye doctor!. A poster above stated that optometrists cannot treat this, but in my area, they can!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

maybe its a corn of dust or the like!.

it sounds like it wandered behind your eyeball (that sometimes happens - my cousin slept with her lenses and the lens was stuck behind the eye!.
see an ophtamologist and let him have a look at that!.

don't take this easy, you could go blind!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, it could be a piece of grit, or some sort of tick in your eye!. Try drops, and washing it out more!. If it persists, go to the doctor!. I've had the same thing before and it's very uncomfortable!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It needs to be examined with an ophthalmologist's instrument!. Ask a friend with glasses or contacts if their optometrist would look at it for a small fee!. He can't treat it, but he can see what's there!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
