Question: Should I switch to contacts!?
I've only been wearing glasses for about 4 months and I HATE at first I thought I looked fine!. But now I hate wearing them!. It's summer and I don't wear my glasses unless we go out!. How old do you have to be to wear contacts!. My aunt (she is an eye doctor) says 16!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There is no set age for this!. It is how responsible a person is towards caring for their eyes and contact lenses!. The youngest person I know of was 10 and had to prove she was responsible enough to wear them to her parents!. I know some adults that are not responsible enough to care for contacts and have gotten bad eye infections from improper care!.
If you think you are responsible enough to wear them, then ask your parents about it!. They may ask you to do a few things to prove it to them, but it sounds like it would be worth it for you!.
I understand how you feel on this!. I hated glasses as a teen so I only went as far as trying them on a few times!. I was ok not wearing them because my right eye has normal vision!. depends on how mature you are to look after them and to wear them properly!. you will need a contact lens trial that your aunt should be able to give you to assess what type of lens to have!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I think your aunt is like telling what age she THINKS YOU should wear them!.
Newborns can wear them if there is need because glasses aren't appropriate or necessary!.

the age requirment for contact lenses is not defined!. u can be 8 yrs old and wear them if u are responsible enogh for them!.
contacts are amazing! i started wearing them around age 11 and loved them!. i have acuvue oasys!.i only had my glasses for about 3 or 4 months!.i only wear my glasses when i take out my contacts before bed so i can see where im going!.

I've been wearing lenses since the age of 12!. Then, they were called hard lenses!. Now I wear disposables and I LOVE THEM!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
