People who wear contacts?!

Question: People who wear contacts!?
Do you sleep in yours, even if you aren't supposed to!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Yes, I sleep in my contacts even though I'm not supposed to!. They're so light-weight that I don't even notice I have them on so I usually forget to take them off!. Yet that hasn't stopped me from wearing them days/weeks/months at a time w/o taking them out!. When I wake up with my prescribed contacts I immediately drop this product called 'Blink n' Clear' into my eyes and I'm all good!. I usually don't take my contacts out unless my eyes are red and irritated OR if I have an off day or 2 and know I won't do anything productive as I stay at home!.!.!.in that case I'll wear my glasses!.

I hadn't heard what the rest of you were saying about losing your eyesight permanetly or that the contact can get rolled at the back of your eye!. However, my optometrist, who I've known since I was a baby (we're close) did tell me that if I do continue to wear my contacts like I was in the past (months) then my cornea could get cloudy which isn't good!. Though, she didn't stress the significance of long term use!.

I so want to get lasik eye surgery, but my mom and optometrist say not until after I have kids b/c having children takes a toll on a woman's body including my eyesight that'll make it worse off!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I do not intentionally sleep in contacts!. I have fallen asleep a few times with them in!. It did not do any damage when I did!. The only thing I noticed was that my eye was really dry!. I wear a toric lens and it had rotated while I slept in so I woke up with blurry vision because the lens was not in the correct location!.

The only lenses that should be worn while sleeping are Ortho K lenses because they are designed to reshape the cornea while you are sleeping and not to be worn while awake!.

There is no reason to sleep in any other kind of lens!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, because they tell you not to for a good reason!. Sometimes when you sleep, your eyes naturally roll back in your head!. If this happened while your contacts were in, the contacts can burn your cornea (a part of your eye), and you can lose your eyesight completely!.

Once or twice, I haven't fallen asleep on a bus ride or something with them in!. You really wouldn't want to because after you wake up, your eyes are extremely dry and sticky!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The first year I wore contacts and I slept with them in overnight--BAD idea!. My eyes were always dry and red after about 11 months, and then I took them out at night and they're fine now!. It's an especially bad idea to keep them in at night if you go on the computer or watch TV a lot!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, not overnight!. Once or twice I have had an afternoon nap and left them in but they leave your eyes really dry (they kinda stick to your eyeball making it more difficult to get out and leave your eyes feeling dry and yuck)!.
I wouldn't if you could avoid it - it isn't good!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have colored and clear contacts and i sleep with them all the time!. My clear contacts are approved for sleep but my colored contacts aren't!. They both feel the same when i wake up with them on so why should I stop!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

you are not supposed to sleep with them in, though not always the case, the contact could slide to the back of your eye causing damage to the corneria, and may cause the need for surgeryWww@Answer-Health@Com

no! never!
sometimes i do like when i fall asleep in the car or something, but never to BED!. thats really bad!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't because they would dry out in my eyes!. My eyes are pretty dry to begin with and that gets worse at night!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have once or twice acfter a night out when I forgot!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
