Question: Fireworks and danger!?
ok lets say at a young age of 5 or so a fire work went off in the childs face!. (it was like a wakko mortar) how would that affect the childs eyes later on!?
(when it happened the docter said her eyes were irritated and she needed to stay away from lights!.!.!?) could this child have permanant damage

sounds like the person responsible should be punished, yes, vision is a delicate thing, we have only two eyes, to see color, the concussion of the cracker could damage the eye pressure, magnify it, cause blindness, glaucoma, cataracts, etc!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I set off more fireworks than I can count from an early age and have no problens from it to this day and I'm 55!.Sky rockets-m80's-cherry bombs and so on!. The most trouble I had was with the LEGAL ones!.I got a face full several times!. Those fountains can go off sooner than expected!.The wetness of the eyes does a real good job of protecting the eye itself!.My side of the street used to have a war every year with the other side!.We used to shoot bottle rockets at each other and try to get them into the other's house!.When those little suckers go off in the living room it really makes a mess!
I'm no doctor but after all that for years, and being a welder after that, I can say I have no damage from fireworks to my eyes!.I had many go off directly in my face-it felt like sand in my eyes for a while, but it always went away just fine, usually in a day or so!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Only the doctor can say for sure in this case but any time a child has something like that blow up in the face, it can blind them or do serious damage that may or may not be permanent!. A 5 year old should not be allowed that close to any fireworks and anyone that lets them is not being responsible!. It could very well be that this childs eyesight could be permanently damagedWww@Answer-Health@Com
My friend's son had a small bottle rocket explode on his eye!. At the ER that night, the attending physician said that no major damage was done!. About a month later he began having vision problems due to scar tissue and other issues!. Shortly afterward, he became completely blind in that eye!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
